4.21.24 Love in Creede: Ashley & Garrett
In the heart of spring, amidst the breathtaking beauty of Creede, Colorado, on one of the prettiest April days Creede has ever given, Ashley and Garrett celebrated their love. The enchanting Creek Side HQ provided a stunning backdrop for their heartfelt ceremony, while the newly built Hayloft hosted an unforgettable party where family and friends gathered to celebrate.
Ashley and Garrett’s love story is a testament to the serendipity of life. Despite being in different states—Garrett in Sioux Falls, SD, and Ashley in Lawrence, KS—they found each other online and felt an immediate connection. “To this day, I have no idea how we ended up on each other’s feed, but here we are!” Ashley marvels.
The Journey to "I Do"
Garrett knew Ashley was the one early on, particularly after meeting her family during her graduation. “He realized that he didn’t want to spend any more time without me— which he didn’t,” Ashley recalls with a smile. For Ashley, it was during a trip to Glacier National Park that she realized Garrett was her forever. Despite things not going as planned, Garrett’s patience and calm demeanor showed her that he was the perfect partner.
Garrett’s proposal was a delightful surprise that kept Ashley guessing. A trip to Kansas City, complete with concert tickets and a visit to their first date spot, had Ashley anticipating a proposal. However, Garrett had another plan in mind. After a playful moment involving strawberries at a tulip festival, Garrett later proposed by the Rio Grande River in Creede.
The Wedding Day
The ceremony was a heartfelt affair, with Ashley and Garrett signing a rock from their newly purchased land in Creede, symbolizing the solid foundation of their future together. The Hayloft, with its rustic charm and modern amenities, provided the perfect venue for their reception. Friends and family enjoyed an evening filled with laughter, dancing, and celebration.
Ashley’s favorite thing about Garrett is his big heart, kindness, patience, and genuine care for others, which continually reminds her of the good in life. Garrett loves Ashley’s huge heart, drive, and goal-oriented nature, making them a perfectly balanced pair.
