Married at Sunnyside Chapel in Creede, Colorado - Garet & Chelsey
When you know, you know. Garet and Chelsey were introduced to each other by Anna, the Maid of Honor, the weekend after Chelsey graduated from college. After three months of exclusively dating, the couple was engaged. Chelsey wanted to elope on the side of a mountain, while Garet wanted a “real wedding”. Creede, Colorado was the perfect compromise for Garet & Chelsey’s intimate wedding.
Chelsey has been vacationing in Creede since she was eight months old. Her grandparents own a house in Creede. Upon finding out that the old chapel had been updated she knew the Sunnyside Chapel was the perfect location in Creede for their wedding.
When asked what each other’s favorite thing about the other is, there’s a common thread; support. Chelsey, when asked, said her favorite thing about Garet is, “The freedom and independence I still have and the support is always there when I need it.” Similarly, Garet’s favorite thing about Chelsey is, “She lets me be me, she never tried to change me…hopefully that doesn’t change.”
The day of Garet and Chelsey’s wedding ceremony was a beautiful breezy summer day with a few clouds in the sky. The wedding parties primped at Antlers located on the bank of the Rio Grande. The bridesmaids wore mauve colored dresses while the groomsmen were in “Western Wear” of denim and white button downs. Even their newborn son, also a groomsman, was in denim and a white onsie. The couple, Garet and Chelsey, had a unique “Unity Ceremony” using Garet’s Family Brand, a tree in the forest was branded, forever marking their love for each other, for all to see.
The bride’s mom did not overlook any details when planning and decorating for this small, simple, intimate wedding. Creede local, Janelle Kukuk baked the couple’s Aspen-themed wedding cake. The groom did have one trick up his sleeve; he danced his bride down the aisle upon them pledging their I Do’s. With their newborn in tow, this couple is well on their way to their happily ever after.
