Heather & Colin (River Crest Cabin, South Fork, Colorado)
Colin and Heather first connected in April of 2012, through match.com. Their first date began at Starbucks on their motorcycles and ended at Heathers place for a homemade meal. As they say, the rest is history.
When asked, Colin could not remember what sealed the deal for him knowing that Heather was the one, but he remembers calling his mother to tell her that he had found the woman he was going to marry. Colin simply loves how thoughtful Heather is toward other people, especially toward him. And Heather says that “Colin is the kindest and most loyal man [she’s] ever met. He tolerates all of [her] nonsense without a complaint. He keeps [her] grounded and steady.”
Four years later, Heather and Colin went on a dinner date at the Flagstaff House in Boulder, Colorado - the perfect place for his proposal. It has amazing food, ambiance and a beautiful view of Boulder. After they ordered, Colin got down on one knee, but before he could ask his question, Heather interrupted him with a joke. She relished in the fact that he got flustered and had a hard time getting out what he wanted to say. Of course, she said yes! And instantly fell in love with the ring he had chosen for her. They had never looked at rings, but he chose one that was both unique and reflected how beautiful he thinks she is. It was perfect.
They got married on September 7, 2019 in South Fork, Colorado at Rivercrest Cabin off the Rio Grande, after a long engagement. When looking for a venue, it was important to them that they could be married outside, and the venue reflected the things they love most about their lives: mountains and water, with a rustic feel.
They planned for an intimate wedding with friends and family, on an island in the middle of the river with wildflowers all around. The entire morning into the afternoon it poured rain, so the bride and groom decided to have a first look, just in case the weather changed their plans. Colin was overcome with emotion - it was a beautiful moment.
The weather cleared for them to have the outdoor wedding they planned, along the Rio Grande River. It was a beautiful ceremony officiated by a close friend! Colin even surprised Heather during the ceremony with an extra beautiful band he had found for her. The entire day ended with smiles, dancing and fun after a delicious meal prepared by friends. A friend even made the cake, adorned with macaroons made by the bride. A perfect ending to a beautiful day.
